| Meet the mammals associated with large bodies of water! When thinking about mammals, it’s easy to forget that some of these creatures qualify. Despite the lack of legs upon seals, whales, and dolphins, they do have hair (the minimal requirement to pass as “mammal”). An abundant population of whales, seals, otters, etc, is often an indication of abundant food (fish, crabs, krill, etc). This is a good sign for the health of the habitat in question. Having spent little time near saltwater thus far, this portfolio is still very much developing (pun intended). In this album, you will encounter seals, otters, and other large aquatic creatures. |
