Plant Wildflowers, Save Bees

Don’t let your lawn be responsible for murdering the environment.

Thanks to the application of harsh chemicals for such uses as lawn “care” and “protecting” crops, bees are on a downward spiral toward extinction. If they die, we die. However, their recovery is still very attainable. Wildflowers, such as this purple coneflower are not only much more attractive than the classic (boring) American yard, but they provide food for a host of pollinators. Even a small patch of wildflowers will be a huge help to these imperiled insects. Here are a few wild honeybee shots from the not-so-distant past. Photo taken near Hartleton, PA.
